The "Eradicator"
CLWI is seeking to raise funds to continue the operation of the “Eradicator” – a diver-assisted suction harvesting (DASH) unit – during the summer of 2022. This is CLWI's third season of operating the Eradicator, which is helping to rid Chazy Lake of Eurasian watermilfoil, an invasive species that has infested our beloved Lake for the past 30+ years.
Diver-Assisted Suction Harvesting (DASH) is the extraction of plants using a diver, suction tube, a unique set of pumps mounted on a boat, and a filtration system. Suction harvesting is a viable means of plant suppression because the entire plant is removed, including its connective rooting system.
